ESPN to Acknowledge the Accomplishments of Wendell Scott * First Black Driver to Win a Cup Race

By
Property Manager with Gibson Management Group, Ltd.

I've heard this story almost ALL OF MY LIFE and it has never gotten old.

Wendell Scott

I'll be watching on Sunday evening at 9P as ESPN airs Wendell Scott * A RACE Story.  Wendell is the first black American to win a NASCAR premier race * in 1963 in Jacksonville, FL.

Wendell is dead; however, his son Frank and wife, Mary, were finally given a race winning trophy in October, 2010 that he won in 1963.

Racing fans want NASCAR's efforts, using former Sony and Dale Earnhardt Inc ex Max Siegel to head their Drive for Diversity, to be successful in their efforts to bring more minorities into the sport.
