Statue of George Washington - Washington Square Park, Charleston, SC

A statue of George Washington stands tall in Washington Square Park in Charleston, SC., Charleston's first public park.  The park is fenced and gated with Charleston's famous iron works.  Shaded with grand oak trees, Washington Square Park is located in the heart of Charleston's historic area, behind Charleston's City Hall at the corner of Broad St. and Meeting St.  The Washington Monument in DC was designed by Charleston native and American architect Robert Mills.  Notice the replica of the Washington Monument in the background.

I did not know that Charleston had a statute dedicated to George Washington. That's very nice to know!

Thanks and I hope you have a blessed Sunday.
