I am in LVE with my new Sprint EVO 4G Droid.

Say what you will about cel phones and coverage, our Charlottesville 29 North Sprint store is AWESOME.  I've bought a Palm Centro, a Palm Pixi and NOW a EVO from them and they are wonderful to deal with.  The store manager actually brought the WHITE EVO I wanted back from the Roanoke office for me as there were none in the store for my new phone delivery on Friday.

I probably hung on to my Palm OS platform for my contact management for 2 phones too long as I could have just used the Palm EXPORT vCard option and uploaded them to my Google CONTACTS for the last Pixi and NOW the Android.

I also use the Google calendar that updates automatically AND want to get used to Google docs on the phone.

I've signed up for 30 days of my Voicemail being delivered via text..... and did I mention that I can now watch NASCAR Cup races LIVE on my phone?

Good morning Wallace. I was lusting over the iPhone but 3 letters kept me from making the switch. Now that my current carrier has the iPhone, I will not be making the switch as it is still a 3G phone and upgrades to the 4G network are still on the horizon as far as Apple goes. I heard that my carrier will be releasing a 4G Droid next month. I will upgrade then...

Hi Wallace,

There is nothing more fun then getting a new toy especially when you can apply it and intergrate it with your job.  My brother got the Droid 2 and he LOVES it.  I guess Blackberry has got some competition - I still have a year to go on my contract but I enjoy listening to people and what phones work the best.

Wallace - sounds like Christmas morning for you! I have  a Palm Pro that I love right now, but am aware the Palm O/S is not having apps written for it like other operating systems. Glad to hear you like this, as it might be my next phone.

Not only can you watch NASCAR on your EVO, but you can listen to the in-car radio. I had Kasey Kahne on yesterday as I watched the race. As for the voicemail via text- I love it. I get a good giggle about some of the translations.

Hi Wallace,

I love my Sprint EVO too!  I finally have a phone where I don't feel like I need to get an upgrade when my term comes up.  There's just so many things you can do with this Android phone.  My wife wanted the white one, but it wasn't available when she was able to upgrade so I got her the Samsung Epic instead.

As far as the voice mail to text option...sign up for google voice and then download the ap onto your droid. You can set your voicemail to always go to google voice and they you can keep a copy of any voicemails you get and it will transcribe voice mail and send you an email (or text if you opt for it). The transcription is dodgy at best but it gets the job done (for free!).

I seriously love my droid.

Thank you Julia * the text of voicemails is not that good as I get so many calls from people I do not know.....I'd rather hear them spell their name * I'll wait for my FREE TRIAL to go back to the OLD way and I'll listen to the voice message

Sprint announced a few days ago that they will be releasing a new HTC EVO 3D phone!  Haven't seen one in person yet, but it sure sounds interesting.  I thought I was happy with my current EVO, but it will be tempting to get one with a 3D screen.

Hello,

I was wondering how exactly you are watching the races live on your EVO? We have spoken to sprint as they have no real answers as to how to view a live race. I actually googled the topic and found this. Any info would help. THANKS!

Because SPRINT sponsors the Cup series, the EVO can pick up the CUP races and other races through NASCAR.com
