Ready for Dahlias

We've enjoyed a break in the winter weather in Maryland. A couple of mild days will really get you thinking about spring and summer flowers. I hope you are planning your garden. I look forward to capturing the changing colors of the seasons in photographs.

Some Maryland gardeners are pretty good when it comes to growing award winning dahlias. If you have a green thumb, please share some of your pictures.

I'm with you... can't wait for spring to arrive. I love to garden, but am not very good at it. I grow mostly roses, tulips, pansys, petunias and daffodils... they grow the best here. We get some pretty cold days well into spring and summer, so I need hearty flowers. Thanks for sharing your stunning photo.

The name to remember when you want it done right.

Roy, I have neither a green thumb nor a long growing season, but I’ll take pictures of my neighbors and my wife’s accomplishments when the season arrives. That is beautiful!

That's a beautiful dahlias! I've never been successful growing them but they are a work of art! Thanks for keeping me up to date on the names of flowers!

Good to see that a pretty dahlia got your attention. You might have to attend dahlia shows to find ones this nice. It is not what we normally find in a neighborhood garden.

Flowers are always blooming at Longwood Gardens.

Roy - that's a beauty. They never really appealed to me but I could love that one.

Thanks for your comments, Toni and Joshua. There are many different kinds of dahlias.

Roy - Now that's a Dahlia! They don't look like that in my garden - must be a hybrid. Great photo! (I noticed that my Dahlias do great later in the summer - must be a heat thing.)

Hi Roy - Fantastic photo!  I am planning my garden alright--planning to go find it in about a month.  : )  Another few inches of that white stuff coming tonight and tomorrow--someday the gardens will re-appear!
