Reminder: Don't Take Yourself Seriously -----
----- no one else does!
At a spot overlooking Lake Merced, in San Francisco, we chanced across this statue of King Carlos III of Spain, dedicated by King Juan Carlos I, in the 1970s. A very regal looking king, but he didn't get any respect from the seagull!
This afternoon's hike in San Francisco took us through a neighborhood near the western edge of the City, around Lake Merced, through Pine Lake Park and Stern Grove, and to the West Portal neighborhood where we "discovered" the Peruvian restaurant, Fresca! (Worth a trip all on it's own--make a reservation.)
Once again, a few hours break from a busy work schedule left us refreshed and happy. From time to time, I suggest you pull away from the attractions on the midpeninsula and Silicon Valley, and enjoy exploring San Francisco, so close and easy to do.
