I lived with Crocodiles for years, Now... I am one!

I spent three years living & working in the Everglades National Park in South Florida. Many times, as a visitor would comment on the Alligator they saw, I would correct them and let them know that it was in fact, An American Crocodile. They would argue and say that Crocodiles do not live in salt water (there are fresh water crocs), and I would correct them again by telling them that not only do American Crocodiles live in salt water, but that they Thrive in the Everglades. They do what they have to do to survive!
One thing I remember most about the Crocodiles in the Everglades is that they seemed to spend a lot of time alone. They kept their distance and I was always fascinated at how they managed to always do their own thing, when they had so much going on around them. After taking the Quiz, and finding out that I fell into the Crocodile Category, I felt a little "More Proud" than normal. I have always believed that I think outside the box, I have always felt that I had the endurance to survive no matter what life throws at me, no matter what is going on around me, and I have always believed that I had that "fighting Spirit" inside. Like the Crocodile, I will always strive to survive.
Let's face it, Times have been tough! There have been moments where I thought about giving up, but those moments are very brief and like the crocodile, My determination sets in and I find a way to survive....And I know that I always will. I just sometimes need a little reminder!
When I stumbled across the latest Activerain Challenge, Surviving Your Serengeti, I was thrilled. Like the crocodile, I always enjoy a challenge, and throw the fact that I love to read in the mix...The perfect challenge for me. I have read just about every "Business" and "Motivational" book ever published and am often disappointed. Not this time. After reading just two chapters of Surviving Your SERENGETI by Stefan Swanepoel, I know that it will be one of my favorites if not #1! I am extremely anxious for March 1st to get here so that I can read the book in it's entirety! Surviving Your SERENGETI is not only motivational and thought provoking, it is an easy read, it is filled with likable characters, and I will proudly display a copy on my coffee table and my desk for easy access. I highly recommend that you download the teaser chapters, and participate in the challenge.

Hi Amy, I'm also a croc! Apparently we're quite prevalent, at least in this industry. Makes sense too. That whole independent thing, and working alone is very characteristic of what we do. I'm excited to read the rest of the book as well, along with the fun we'll have on AR once others read!
Nice job on a contest post. I am still trying to find out how I relate to the animal that I am.
Amy, I have read a couple of these reviews of this book and I think I may have to read it just to find out what kind of animal I am :)
Joe - In high school, my coach called me "Grace"...but she was being sarcastic....:-) Gotta go read your post!
Wanda - Hello my fellow crocodile...I can't wait to finish the book! Gotta go read your post too!
Ellie - Thanks! You'll find that relationship...Can't wait to see what animal you are!
Charles - Would love to see you participate in this challenge, but if you don't, you can still take the quiz to find out what animal you are. I was pleased with being a Crocodile...
❧What I love the most about AR is what we learn about each other!! These challenges force us to grow don't they?
Amy, you certainly do think outside the box and are a great leader too...
Pamela
Thanks Pamela! These challenges definitely help us grow, and I too love learning about my "friends" here in the rain! if you haven't taken this challenge yet...I highly recommend it! This book is amazing...only 2 chapters in!
I am going to have to buy that book and read it. I am a giraffe!
Sussie - Weren't the first 2 chapters wonderful? So far, everyone I know is either a giraffe or a crocodile!
Oh My! I'm in shock. Me, a Giraffe? How can I be anything that is referred to as graceful? Well, I took the test and that's what it says, so there!
I have not read the two chapters yet, time is flying. However, I promise I will before I go to sleep tonight. Loved the quiz.
You, my beautiful daughter, cannot possible be an ugly old crocodile! I love your new profile picture.
Marian - You are as graceful as any one I have ever known...Not that you can walk & talk at the same time, but in the sense that the quiz describes. As far as me being a croc...they are beautiful creatures, strong and determined! Can't wait to hear your opinion of the book, Since I love the first 2 chapters, and I have become my mother....There is no doubt you'll enjoy it!
Amy, So far this evening I read and found out what I am. Then I saw your blog and a few others of my friends and see you are all Crocodiles, funny those are the kinds of friends I like the most, but yet thats not what I am. We'll see!
Amy, great post and enjoyng reading about the book and the survival animal that you are. guess I need to take the quiz and read the 2 chapters.
Ellen - Can't wait to read your post...No doubt it will be entertaining! Hmmmmm.....what animal are you? I'm a southern talkin' crocodile!
Mickey - You must read the book and take the quiz. Participation in the challenge is optional, but you must read the book, Good Stuff!
Michael - I assume you are referring to the Visitors and not me ;0) Yes, you and I are fellow crocs...And I either didn't know that you lived in FL or I had forgotten...I certainly do not miss those skeeters!
What fun...although as a wildebeest I am apparently very much a minority!
Brenda Roney (The Wildebeest) - Are you commenting on my blog post? For those of you that don't know, Brenda is the EO of my local Association. And she is awesome!!!!!
Hi Amy,
Here is a riddle for you. Why do American Crocodiles like salt water? Because pepper water makes them sneeze. ha ha
I will have to find out what animal I am.
Lisa
Lisa - LOL...That's good! Can't wait to hear which animal you are....Read the book too, It's wonderful!
Amy, I am also a crocodile and don't mind it all. We have super skills to survive and thrive in any business environment!
