Should I create a team?

I had an idea last night and I am not sure if it will work. I figured that the best way to find out if it is feasible is to ask my ActiveRain mentors!

How well do teams work?

I was thinking about forming a team within my company and recruiting agents and other people to be apart of it. We would pool our resources and each person would have a role. It would basically be a real estate services company within our brokerage.

The idea would be to have a one-stop group: investments, property management, buyers, sellers, marketing, etc…

However I am not sure what my next step is, however;

Here are a few questions:

Have you tried something like this?

Does it work?

Ideas to make it work?

Pros/Cons?

Why should I create a team?

Why shouldn’t I create a team?

Nick, The team idea sounds good for big companies.  I work for a smaller company so the agents usually don't want to be part of a team.  Oh, and how is your recovery going?

Nick,  I think teams are about chemistry.  If the parts don;t mix well the team will probably not last long.

if you like the idea of having a "team" you can present the image without having the cost. Gather your resources..... Mortgage person, reliable references for landscaping, painting, -- don't forget to work with a Stager, and use their information in your Listing Packets. I work with many Realtors on a regular basis, and they use our info often and present us as part of their "team."  On the other hand....if you're so busy with clients.....  then a team would likely be a good idea.
