Any level headed, upstanding citizen of the 60's thought those crazy hippies were out of their lsd dropping minds!

Why there was talk of "Big Brother" watching you and all sorts of paranoid deluded notions about our government and private societal rights being somehow "invaded" or "violated".

Of course, there was NO WAY that things would end up the way, well...the way THEY HAVE ended up!
Who would have thought that in a few short decades, you'd be able to "google earth" your house...or your neighbor's house...or a stranger's house, whenever and from wherever you wanted to? http://earth.google.com/

Imagine telling your Grandpa Joe that he'd better not sit on his back porch in his skivvies because he could be caught on satellite photo and people in Czech Republic might see him and think American's were uncouth! Who wold have thought that people would be home shopping on the Internet and be able to zoom right in on prospective houses to see what they liked about the neighborhood.

What about the fact that there are commercials on tv showing us how to track our children with the attractive Disney Character gps phones. For that matter, one could track their spouse, their employees, their friends...

Oh, and don't forget that convenient online house shopping affords us Realtors the advantage of "viewing" what our prospects have looked at one, two three or more times and being able to call them to encourage a showing of the property. Why, we can quickly peek at their online activity to see what houses they are thinking of looking at and give them a quick ring...

Maybe the "Hippies" weren't so far of base...
Lania, I adore this post!
I WAS a hippie - not acid popping but I burned out my share of brain cells with other things.
And remember how outraged everyone was by Nixon's snooping? Well, you're probably too young, but Nixon got himself impeached over this stuff!
All the new technology does make selling houses a little easier, though.
