Almost everyone has taken a personality quiz at least once. Some of the quizzes will match your personality traits up with fruits, colors or animals to help you understand your strengths and weaknesses. I have taken several of those quizzes over the years and have discovered that I am:
- A Banana - I'm an organizer, leader, hard worker and will do whatever it takes to get a job done.
- Green - I'm cool and calm and love nature.
- A Rose (imagine that!) - I possess inner beauty but am quiet and shy.
And, after taking Stefan Swanepoel's animal quiz, I have just discovered that I am also a Giraffe - full of grace with compassion towards others and the desire to extend good will.
Swanepoel created the "What Animal Are You?" quiz to complement his upcoming book, Surviving Your Serengeti - Seven Skills to Master Business and Life. The short, five-minute quiz reveals whether you are a Crocodile, Giraffe, Elephant, Cheetah, Lion, Wildebeest or Mongoose. Each animal is associated with certain characteristics and strengths that are helpful in succeeding in business and in life.
I have read the first two preview chapters of Swanepoel's book, and found it quite intriguing. Swanepoel describes his book as a journey of self-discovery. He weaves a story around the animals of the Serengeti, and what they must do to survive. Each animal has certain needs, and has developed the necessary skills to meet those needs, survive and prosper. In the second chapter, he discusses the Wildebeest which must travel great distances to find water. For survival, the Wildebeest travels in large groups, with each one depending on the others for safety.
The book will be released on March 1, and I can't wait to read the rest of the book. I want to find out how the Giraffe plays in to the story of the Serengeti, and what traits it must depend on for survival.
If you would like to participate in the Active Rain Surviving Your Serengeti challenge and take the quiz, be sure to do it before February 25 at midnight Eastern time to get some nice bonus points!
