After reading the first two chapters of Stefan Swanepoel's new book Surviving your Serengeti: 7 Skills to Master Business and Life, I took the quiz; and was given the title of "King of the Jungle" LION...
Beyond my career, after reading my assessment, and the description of the lion, fits me in everyday life as well. The lion is an "all or nothing" kinda cat, and if I don't meet my goal, I go hungry. Which in this market, it is easy to go hungry if you do not give it all you got!
I chart my course before navigating through the trecherous desert. I lay out my plan, and stick to it, to try to avaoid any potential pitfalls on the way. When going through the desert; we wouldn't forget our water, sunscreen, food, or map would we?
When navigating through my business I am the same. Honestly, I am returning to my career, after taking a year and a half off. It is a desert. It is difficult to navigate a new way. I have my necessities, and instead of trying to take the shortcuts through the desert, and ending up viewing nothing more than a mirage, I am following the map. Following the map will (hopefully) lead me to the lush lanscape of palm tress, cascading waterfalls, and trees bearing rich fruit.
The bottom line is this. I am a lion. In every meaning of the description. By day, I follow a regimen to ensure my business is run as a fine tuned machne. Ensuring my clients quality, professional, service. But by night, you can find me cuddling in my den with my 8 cubs....
