My DRE License states that I'm a Salesperson..........Does anyone have any white-out I can borrow?

Salesperson?  Really?

The way I see it, I'm not a "salesperson" at all.

How many buyers do you know these days get "sold" on a home?  None that I know of.  With everyone and their grandmother seeing EVERYTHING on the internet, buyers these days know what they want, how much they can afford, just about everything that can be seen about the house, and pretty much make up their own minds which homes they like and how much they want to pay for it.

Basically, it's my job to go out and find it. And again, I'm not "selling" them anything.  Technically/legally, it's not even mine to sell!!

How many sellers do you know where you have to "sell" them on listing their property with you?  None that I know of.  They know what they want, what they expect, and you either have what they're looking for or you don't.  Or in many cases, you have some kind of relationship already with them where there is no need for ANY of that.

All I really do is accomodate or "broker" the sale.

Now you and I know it's not as simple as it sounds.  Being able to accomodate the sale requires a definite knowledge and skill set, but once again, that doesn't require any "selling".  It's all "know-how".

Some real estate agents have different skill-sets than others, this is true.  Most of that stems from experience.

We as agents wear many hats - Broker, Counselor, Psychiatrist, Friend, Parallegal (in some cases!), Courier, Design Consultant, Punching Bag, and more.

But "Salesperson" is really not one that I would include in that list.  So the next time you decide to call yourself a salesperson, maybe think twice.  There are much more deserving titles you should be bestowing upon yourself.

So now, getting back to that white out.  I prefer the "tape" kind.

Does anyone have any extra that they can SELL me?

Totally disagree....I'm a salesperson (although my license says Broker :)). It's the definition of salesperson that's wrong.

It is ironic that our licenses say "sales person" because our business deals more with counseling, therapy, real estate education ( for our clients that is) and problem solving than selling in the traditional sense of things.

Ralph - In Utah, I'm a Sales Agent. Real Estate moves under a sales model. Owners sell: I facilitate??

LOL . . . while reading the post, in the back of my head I thought "Our friend Karen doesn't mind being a salesperson at all."  Then I scroll down and first comment . . . our friend Karen!!  I like Broker better, only because we do broker deals.  Salespeople don't necessary broker.

The title probably should have been Agent rather than Salesperson.  I'm now a Broker and that is the very best title in our business.

Salespersons are really, IMO, agents for their brokers, who are agents for the buyer and seller.

There is only one cure for your delima.

you know what is funny...we do more selling to the agent on the other side of the transaction then we do to our clients.

"We as agents wear many hats - Broker, Counselor, Psychiatrist, Friend, Parallegal (in some cases!), Courier, Design Consultant, Punching Bag, and more." You left out "potential date"... I have had that happen, too. LOL

I say "Broker"  and all the rest that Shirley has added in.  I would like to delete "Salesperson" all together.  Cheers!
