Active Rain's Rain Shower in Anaheim Reviewed

Last Saturday was my first time attending an Active Rain 'Rain Shower'. It wasn't quite what I expected, the venue being the Heat Ultra Lounge at the Garden Walk in Anaheim and the event being more fun and interactive than I had anticipated.

I went with my son, Re/Max agent Tina Maraj, and Re/Max agent Carlos Amador and we had a very good time. We arrived early and I immediately recognized many familiar faces from blogs and the real world. It was fun to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and share business cards and Active Rain stories. I also got to talk with Jonathan, the master mind of ActiveRain. Jonathan was a great host walking around and making sure to meet with EVERYONE at the event. Special thanks to him for thinking up something like the Rain Shower.

The event was scheduled for 7pm - 10pm with 11 special guests speaking on stage for 5 minutes each. The speeches didn't start till about 8:30 which allowed everyone to get to the event, get comfortable and to socialize before having to direct the attention to the main stage.

Aside from the microphone problems early in the night I thought all of the speakers did a wonderful job speaking in front of such a huge and crazy crowd! Christine Donovan, Herman Chan, and Kevin Kauffman were 3 in particular that I really enjoyed hearing speak. Herman and Kevin were hilarious and really got the crowd fired up. Everyone was great though!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay for the whole event and ended up leaving around 9:30. It was a good experience and I will definitely attend future Rain Showers! Now I've got to check out the Rain Camp!

RON:

I am glad you enjoy the rain storm at the Ultra heat lounge.  I brought one of my associates and we both were very disapointed.  We were there at 7:00 pm and the only way we knew we were in the right place was the screen showing active rain.  The event was not organized very well and there was no reception.  As far as the speakers, their content was not that good and after the third speaker we left.

I would like to have seen an introduction from a representative of Activerain start the program and tell us what to expect.  There were others who left with me so I was not alone.  They need to do a better job of planning.
