Recently in the San Francisco bay area, a section of interstate 580 completely burned and rendered traffic impassable for what Cal Trans initially stated may take upwards of a year to replace. Several months later a huge section of the Bay Bridge was to be destroyed and replaced with a seismically upgraded portion of roadway. This was to be done over a 3 day period, all the while completely closing the most heavily used toll bridge in the country.
In both situations, along comes who many locals are calling "The Patron Saint of the Bay Area", contractor CC Myers to the rescue. Regarding the interstate 580 collapse, his company completed repairs 33 days before the Cal Trans imposed deadline. During the Bay Bridge retrofit over a 3 day holiday weekend, his company completed work 11 hours before the deadline.
Now to the point, as Realtors, we can talk about how we can help our clients or why they should choose us over someone else. But the proof is in the pudding. Showing your value, like CC Myers, goes a lot farther than standing on a soapbox. So instead of telling a prospect or client that you can help them save money, give an example of when you negotiated an inspection credit/repair or purchase price based on comparables, or got your client a first time home buyer discounted Escrow charge, etc. For sellers, show them EVERYWHERE you are going to be marketing their property and why by showing statistics supporting these particular venues. Provide your prospects/clients with a detailed list of EVERYTHING involved in finding or selling a home, this list is long and sure to open their eyes to a number of things they never realize that we do.
Like building a freeway or bridge, there are many parts to be put together...just like a Real Estate transaction. Wouldn't it be nice if your clients' thought of you as "The Patron Saint of Real Estate?"
