Surviving Your Serengeti, A Book Not To Be Overlooked.
Wow! We just finished reading the first two chapters of Surviving Your Serengeti by Stefan Swanepoel, and all we can say is "Wow"! We kept trying to get more but those two chapters will have to suffice until March 1st, 2011 when the book will be released.
Surviving Your Serengeti is such an eye opener both for our real estate business and our personal lives. The book talks about the migration of the animals for survival and challenges us to imagine that migration as a road map of our lives, with all the bumps and grinds along the way.
There is also a little quiz. So bear in mind after taking it, we now know we are talking to you with a giraffe/mongoose's point of view.
We can also see now why Active Rain has been so addictive to us and many of you here. Surviving Your Serengeti points out that surviving and enduring is so much easier when you do it together. We need someone to encourage and motivate us and we find it here in the Rain. Remember as they said in the book, even the Wildebeest does not run alone.
In Surviving Your Serengeti it states, 'accept the fact that some circumstances are beyond your control, and while you may not be able to change some events, you do control the way you interpret and react to them. Powerful right? Our personal goal would be to learn that core survival skill; to control our interpretations and reactions.
There were so many excellent and thought provoking points and that was only in the first two chapters! We want the entire book now and to learn the 7 skills to master our business and life.

I agree Al & Peggy, some powerful information packed in 2 chapters and look forward to the official release of the book!
Ok Giraffe & Mongoose, or is it Mongoose and Giraffe? Do fess up! Wasn't it great? I can hardly wait to read the rest of the book. So positive, very simple, I almost hit myself on the forehead thinking... "I should have known that"!
I am a croc.... :D
Al & Peggy, okay I haven't read any part of it yet. I have heard some discussion about it much like yours. Hope I have a chance to give it a read soon.
Hi Al and Peggy...I too read the first two Chapters...Bottom line "Never Give Up"
Good morning Al & Peggy. It was an easy and interesting read. Writing about the book was a lot of fun...
Wanda, we couldn't believe when the two chapters were over, we just gobbled it up! Love animals so we related easily.
It was a simple read Andrea, many things we had heard before, but somehow Serengeti made it hit home!
You are missing out big time Nick, click over to it and give it a read and take the quiz, do it before Friday ;)
Yes, Fred that is it! Never, no matter what!
It was Michael, have to get the book now....
Dear Mongoose & Giraffe,
Thought I would migrate over and see how the Graceful Risk-takers are doing. That is a great combination (confirming what you already know).
Best,
Steve
Al and Peggy I have not read the book but it sounds like it is well worth the time to read. People spend so much of their lives worrying about things that they cannot control or what has ALREADY happened, when they should be using that time to make the best use of what is before them.
Al and Peggy,
Glad it was such as simple read and that you could relate to the fable and animals! That is what the goal was and it's exciting to hear that the parable is resonating so well. Enjoy the entire safari!

What we read was a great introduction George and we can't wait for the book to be released so that we can finish it George! What you say is exactly true!
Stefan thank you so much for stopping by our post. We can not express the impact those first two chapters had on us. Thank you for raising our awareness.
Al & Peggy, but did you say what you are after the quiz?
I'm the Enduring Wildebeast who loves to run wild with her friends in the Rain.
Well, as one Giraffe to another, I was surprised at the results, but they seem to fit us perfectly don't they Peg. As got the Mongoose/Al, oh well. It was a quick read, and I know I will want to finish the book, so Bob Stewart has done his thing to get books sold for a friend and give it some additional publicity
Oh yes, Ellen, we are the giraffe and mongoose! Graceful risk takers! LOL!
That's too funny Ed, wouldn't have had you down as a giraffe Ed, but at least you are not a Mongoose. Did you take a look at that vicious looking thing?
Al & Peggy, I just stopped by to thank you for your help...the phone call was the high point of my day...sorry I couldn't spend more time with you.
By the way...check out my last post.
Al & Peggy, I was just going to take the quizz and go to sleep.HA!HA! as soon as I took the quizz I was hooked and had to read both chapters mind you it was after the bewitching hour....good thing I did not have the book:)
