The divas of the plant world put on an unforgettable show at Longwood Gardens

Orchid Extravaganza at Longwood Gardens through March 27 in the Conservatory

"The divas of the plant world put on an unforgettable show as thousands of orchid blooms fill the Conservatory."

Indoor map of the Conservatory: http://www.longwoodgardens.org/docs/MapIndoor2009.pdf

Garden Show Highlights:  http://www.longwoodgardens.org/docs/BLOOM/20110218HighlightsIndoor.pdf

"Colorful orchids drape from walls, flow from pedestals and are even fashioned into curtains. Experience 20 rooms of pure sunshine where spring has never left. And your family won't want to, either.

You will be amazed by the variety of orchids on display, featuring a plethora of colors, sizes, shapes and varieties, including Cattleya, Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum and Oncidium, among others."

In addition to the orchid display, there are thousands of other flowers and plants to enjoy and photograph. The photographs in this group were taken by my wife, Dolores Kelley.

Dolores and Roy Kelley visited Longwood Gardens on Saturday, February 12, 2011 for the Orchid Extravaganza exhibit. Canon PowerShot S90 camera. Photographs by Dolores Kelley.

Good Friday morning. Thanks for your postive feedback on our flower pictures. Dolores and I enjoy taking them. We have a very rainy morning in Maryland. The good thing is that the rain is washing away much of our ice and snow. Hoping for a nice weekend.

There are always blooming flowers at Longwood Gardens.
