Profile of a Mega Agent - Top 10 Characteristics

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Indy NE 317-290-7775 www.marchantteam.com

Have you ever wondered what characteristics are found in Mega Agents; why do some agents seems to excel and others struggle.  At the Keller Williams Conference, I attended a session on this topic and wanted to share it; I cannot begin to relay the intensity and humor and honesty of the speaker who was Todd Butzer from Minnesota.Top 10 List

The format was for him to ask some thought provoking questions and then give us the Mega Agent characterisitic.  So play along...

Answer the question, I could take my business to the next level if I did ___________ and the reason I don't do that is _______________.

Mega agents are accountable for their own success.

How hard do you work on a scale from 1 to 10; how smart do you work on that same scale?  Are you focused?  Do you capture leads, convert leads and then close leads?

Mega agents are relentless at lead generation.

Can you tell me the number of homes that sold in your market area, the price per sq ft and the average days on market for 2010 and can you tell me the same statistics about the homes you sold?  Do you know which neighborhoods have the best resale and which ones do not?

Mega agents know their markets.

Is it clear when you are with the potential client, who is the professional?  Do you give them what the need to know, can they see your confidence?

Mega agents uWinnernderstand their value proposition and exhibit confidence.

Do you understand your financial condition; do you set aside money for taxes and your future with each paycheck?

Mega agents protect what they earn by taking care of their finances.

How often do your "have mets" (that's a Kellerism) hear from you?  Do you have your "have not mets" on some type of systematic program?

Mega agents use systems and professionally market and communicate to their database.

Do you understand Social Media and are you present and authentic on those site you choose to participate?

Mega agents used technology but also realize the importance of face to face relationships.

What is the last business book you read?  Did you implement anything from that book.  What educational courses have you taken?  How do you learn and study?

Mega agents are learning based.

How would your peers, your past clients and current prospects rate you?

Mega agents deliver an outstanding experience and often excced expectations.

Where is your head; every day you have the choice to focus on the good in your life or the bad because every day is filled with both.

Mega agents keep a positive attitude and outlook.

There you have it; could be others you like better or ones you would swap out. But it is one persons view of what it takes and certainly can be argued to have a lot of what Mega agents are made of.

Hi Cindy,  I especially like the way your question : "Answer the question, I could take my business to the next level if I did ___________ and the reason I don't do that is _______________."  focuses on why we might not be taking effective action.  Well done.

There are a lot of great traits listed.  I would like to think I possess some and I'm certain I possess others.  But I'm not a mega agent and not sure I would ever want to be.

I agree with the characterisitics that you mentioned, Cindy. More power to the "mega agents" for being able to balance so many tasks.

I think embracing new technology is going to be the key for the new mega agent.

Those are all powerful habits. I like how lead generation was early. The key to staying in bsiness is generating clientele. No new faces, no growth.

Hi Bob and Jill, thanks for the kudo's.

Bill, yes, part A is a bit easier than Part B but not nearly as revealing.

Hey Tni...I'm not sure anyone every actually identified a "Mega" agent but I too, know what my limit is to maintain a balance in my life.

Always happy to share Janet.

Aaron...it's hard to balance life in general when you are a REALTOR...so much 24/7 stuff.

Technology is certainly everywhere Tammie.

Jerry, you and me both!

Tricia, thanks for the comment.

Grace Lee in Lake Tahoe...at least I am provoking thoughts and not just provoking!  lol

Agreed J Philip!

Jayne, let's be sure to meet up.

Eric...I'm not sure anyone fits all 10; just some things to think about and strive for what makes sense in your business goal strategy.
