Vim....Vigor....VANISHED...

By
Real Estate Agent

Last night we received @ 3" snow around here,...Macomb Twp, Macomb Co. Michigan;
...the actual depth is up for formal announcement;
...our Home is positioned so that we do get more wind-driven depths;
...whatever the total was, it was that heavy snow;
...wanting to get it down to the cement, the snow blower was out of the equation;
...we have shovels--oh, we have shovels --4 in the garage & 2 on the back patio;

Shovel we did--actually, it was more like:
   push shovel; curl up the snow; slide to side; roll up into the snow edge that is already there.

Not too bad if you space yourself; but I am intent on finishing a job once I start it; don't like taking breaks; want to finish in a timely fashion.

Normally this is a good work process to have. however with snow on sidewalks & driveways it doesn't always pan out.
You know;
....place shovel on snow covered cement area---push;
....continue pushing until your shovel hits that 1/8 -1/4 " rise in pavement;
....grunt & grab stomach or chest area that is now harboring the tip of the wooden stake / handle;
....proceed & check how many other little rises in pavement will cause you to be staked by the shovel.

Finally over and done [until Friday--we are to get 2-5"] and two old folks feeling really, really old,flopped in offices or the great room-distance from garage determined where the first flop-area happened.

Decided to make rolls for dinner [had Coconut-crusted Tilapia & Lemon-Line Cod in fridge along with various side dishes] all ready to reheat carefully.

That means vim & vigor--- Sal  how  does the Colonel's sound to you; when did we have it last [only 2-3 times a year]
Sal said --before Christmas--if you're serious I'm going around 3:00 p.m. which is the best time to avoid the North bound traffic.
Great--I'll make coffee--Decaf or Regular ?? Decaf!!!
Table set, coffee ready, real plates on the table on chargers on place mats [no slouch here]

Gourmet meal cometh:
  The white potatoes in their little container;
  The gravy in it's smaller plastic pot;
  The box of biscuits [no problem with freshly made bread-rolls will keep]
  The third container that holds the sweet-sour cold slaw ----WAIT--I request a unhealthy, delicious meal & Sal
   selects Green Beans with garlic instead of the slaw [the slaw that only he eats anyway] but now there is a
   healthy element added into the mixture;
  NOT to worry...now the Bucket...the bucket that contains 10 dangerously, delicious, Extra-crispy chicken;
  A meal to savor---to eat slowly---to enjoy the textures---the colors---the Grease on your fingers.

  Pure delight; 3 pieces leftover for Sal's lunch [I usually only eat one crispy breast section ]

  Now we are ready for Friday's gift of the depth of snow that comes our way.  AND, I can serve the fish meals
 to make up for our deviant Thursday meal.

 As soon as this is  posted, I am going to enjoy my other "medicine"
--the great Golden Chair that Sal bought for ME last week.  What a Guy !

What a feast! But you could just come here to the sunny south and have without the snow.  The past few days have been in the 70's.  Hope you see spring soon!

Ellen...Well thank You Ellen; life is altogether pretty good  even with snow addition of 3-4" outside right now.
    I myself am still waiting for that return of vim, or is it vigor--no matter it is gone.  The KFC is in the history books now [at least for me] & was enjoyed for the moment; the chair is here to stay.  Love it.
Thanks for your comment. Have a great weekend.

John...that is the plan; Home on the market; Michigan a tad slow in Real Estate; Hope Springs eternal; our hope is to be FL bound before next winter's snow.  Will See.  Thanks for your comment. Have a great weekend.  Wait, if we do come South as hoped for, we can get authentic Fried Chicken that is touted to be better than the KFC outlet offerings elsewhere  Not too shabby either, since with good weather mainly on the scene, exercise can excise the calories.  Can't wait.

Laura...that chair IS very comfy and it was neat that Sal took my 'suggestions' to heart--ie: "don't want Art's mattresses; don't want Art's big screen TVs; don't want the couches, tables, or anything else....just want to see 'my chair' go on sale" at Art Vans---a little much, but it worked. LOL
As for the snow, it was announced that Michigan -SE Area- has over 5' of snow as of yesterday.
What!!!  Earlier in January all the pundits, scientists, & water-level watchers were moaning about the fact the the Great Lakes would not see needed snow-melt this year.  Yeah, well look who has egg on their collective faces.

We promise to keep the snow away from your area, but perhaps NY would be your best chance in directing the  snow fall.
Thanks for your comment. Have a great :"snow-free" weekend.

Karen...[last first] Moving will only happen after the Sale of this Home.  No hurry...no worries...just so tired of snow.  second---that chair is so great---Art Van never disappointes in what we purchase.  The other colors were fun--Olive, Turquoise, Purple, Brick Red & the standard colors. I wanted Golden Yellow. Third--the chicken was good since we have it so seldom.  IF we do move to FL, then I do want to try Real Southern Fried Chicken once in my lifetime.  I am told that it is very different from that which we know up here in the North Central.

At least, if I read your words correctly, YOU have sun--we are in the greys of February until Tuesday of course. LOL  Thanks for your comment. Have a great week ahead>
