"Canyonlands National Park" Utah - Photograph taken by Robert Swetz - 2-24-2011

I have been to the Grand Canyon many times in my life and it is very beautiful, but there is always way to many people there. Tour buses from Las Vegas and so many cars that I really don't go there anymore because it's just to busy.

I have been at Arches National Park in Utah for two days now hiking and taking photographs & videos. There are around 3 major parks within minutes of Arches National Park and one of them is "Canyonlands National Park" (photo above). There were no people there so I could take my time shooting photos & video and it looks just like the Grand Canyon. And why does it look so much like the Grand Canyon? Because the Colorado River runs through Canyonlands just like the Grand Canyon.

The photos don't do Canyonlands justice ... "It is Breath-taking" and only 30 miles from Aches National Park.

Hi VB, You are so lucky to be able to see these places! I am living them through you :) The closest thing I've ever seen to this was the Badlands when I was a young girl. I remember thinking as I stood close to the edge that I needed to be REAL careful of not tripping..it was a very long way down!

VB ~  I have been there and you are correct.  Photos do not show the OMG look on your face the first time you see them.  I was there for two weeks and would love to go back.  On of the best Vacations I have ever been on.

Are you sure, really sure, that you were at Canyonlands and not the Grand Canyon. I thought only the Grand Canyon looked like that.
