Leisure Worldof Maryland offers AARP Tax Assistance Program through April 13, 2011
AARP Rossmoor Chapter 583 in Leisure World of Maryland is sponsoring the 2011 Tax Aide Program designed to assist residents with their 2010 income tax returns.
All returns will be prepared using computers and electronically filed whenever possible. Tax counselors will be available each Wednesday through April 13. Appointments may only be made with the E&R Department in Clubhouse I. Call 301-598-1300 between 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. There are limited number of appointments available, so early registration is encouraged.
Those with questions only will be scheduled for 9:30 am on the Wednesday of their choice and will be served in the order in which they register.
Keep the following information in mind:
1) Organize and bring with you all necessary forms and information on the day of your appointment.
2) If you have sold any stock, make sure you have documentation showing the original cost and any added cost (cost basis).
3) Be sure to bring your 2009 return with you and use this as a guide to determine what supporting data will be needed to complete your 2010 return.
