How do you see yourself? I read, hear and see so much of the negative all the time that it can rub off if we are not careful. When I try my best and do everything right and then someone comes along and for, whatever reason, tears me down I can let the negative come in and believe them or I can see myself in a different light.

Attitude is such a powerful "weapon" in our lives for good or bad. I think to often we let others determine our attitude about our work, our personality, how we feel, and how we see ourselves.

Sales professionals take a beating in the ego, that is a fact of life. However, as the picture says, "What matters most is how you see yourself."

How do YOU see yourself?

Gaylen,

I see myself as an extremely positive, upbeat person. Somewhat to a fault.  That's a strange statement to make, you might say.  But did you ever notice that when you're feeling on top of the world, like you can do anything and you enter a room full of people who are busy complaining and whining about this or that, instead of them cheering up; they almost seem resentful that you ruined their pity party?  I've been noticing that more and more lately.  I truly am a positive, happy person by nature.  Not in a phony, put on, "talk myself into it" kind of way. Some people really seem to resent that.  Have you ever noticed that?

It is all about the attitude you take to life.  If you have a negative outlook and find the faults and problems that is what you are going to get on a regular basis!  I always have something that will flip my attitude right around if I find myself slipping to the negative side of things...

Gaylen-- Great post--As salesperson I am upbeat MOST of the time. I do get down on myself if I

feel I am underperforming.  I know the market is bad but I think I could of prepared better to handle

it. thanks--mike

FAITH - I do see people who resent a happy person, because they want you to be miserable like they are. I is really sad. I hope you keep your positive happy nature.

MIKE - Don't let what has happened in the past get you down. Prepare now for what lies ahead. Thanks for sharing.

This is a great thing to consider! You are right we are torn down for our opinions and business every day. But, I put a thing above my mirror that says "You are great and today you will do great things" I believe this, but there are days that I need to be reminded of it.
