Proper staging sells homes! Occupied homes, with a proper staging consultation given, can show just as amazing as a vacant home that has been staged. Creating a mass market appeal that says "Buy me!"
It all boils down to "staging mojo" or the home's own style or self confidence. I believe that the home should be staged in the style that the home dictates. Otherwise, we are heading into personal taste specifics which limits our buyers (to those with similar tastes).
We have to be careful when choosing a Stager for this reason. Accredited Staging Professionals are trained to pick furniture and accessories that will reflect the selling points of the home, or the home's style - mojo. Some stagers move the same furniture and accessories from home to home, regardless of the style of the home. That does not reflect proper staging and does not sell homes. Not to mention the bad rap that staging gets.
