The Alvenverein is organized as a nonprofit recreational and social club for those from or with an interest in the European Alpine area. The purpose of the club is to promote this heritage in our area and to encourage cultural understanding between those European areas and the City.
Profits from Oktoberfest go mostly to local charities.The Alpenverein of New Bern will be hosting their 20th Annual Oktoberfest at the New Bern Farmer's Market. There will be a delicious authentic German meal served along with continuous music. As always, great desserts baked by our own members will be available as well as warm pretzels.
