ALL Proceeds Benefit LOCAL AREA CHARITIES!

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Driver (& current Points Leader) and local Daytona Area resident Mike Skinner along with his wife Angie are hosting the "Second Annual Skinner Round Up"on Thursday and Friday, September 27th and 28th here in Daytona Beach, FL.

The "Round Up" consists of two days of events beginning Thursday night at the Daytona International Speedway at the Boardwalk Pavilion with the "Hoe Down Bash" Tickets are $25.00 a person and available at the gate, there is no dress code but the theme of the night of course is "western" wear your best 10 gallon hat and jeans!

The Skinners have invited Daytona's best restaurants to participate in "A Taste Of Daytona Alley" where you can sample some of our best local food, and Big Engine, one of the Daytona area's favorite bands will be providing entertainment.

From 6-7pm, Mike and his son Dustin will be signing autographs, there will also be a live auction and other fund-raising activities going on.

There is currently a silent online auction to win 5 laps in the Official NASCAR Pace Car with Mike, the current bid is $200.00. You can outbid that bid here. I would love to go over 150mph around Daytona International Speedway, how about you?

On Friday, Part 2 of The Skinner Round up consists of the Golf and Poker Tournaments at the Spruce Creek Country Club.

They begin their day golfing then hit the poker tables inside. The fee to play Golf is $150.00 and to enter the Poker Tournament, $100.00.

The following celebrities have been invited to come play in both events: Edwin McCain, Stacy Mitchhart, Eddie Money, Bo Bice. NASCAR drivers Ron Hornaday, Rick Crawford and Steve Park; NHRA drivers Matt Smith and Scott Kelley; NASCAR's Betty Jane France and World Series of Poker Champion Brian Wilson. SPEED Channel will also be there filming the events! Sounds like fun just to go watch!

I mentioned that ALL PROCEEDS will going to local charities, those charities will include:

Council on Aging: Meals on Wheels,

Second Chance Animal Rescue,

Safe Kids Coalition,

& Greyhound Pets of America

The Skinners raised over $104,000 last year with their 1st Annual Skinner Round Up and would like to raise $125,000 this year. Come on out and give them a hand in doing so and supporting local Daytona Beach Charities while having some fun.

Lysa, Wow, you have some of the best things around.....and they're all for a wonderful cause as well!  I have never been to a Nascar Race, I'd go in a heartbeat if I were close to one.  Have a blast if you do.

Carole, We sure do don't we? I agree, all are great charities too. I've never been to a race either, but then I'm not a big crowd person, I prefer watching them on TV with all the replays :)

Joan, They sure do! That's why I may go, to get some pointers!
