Green Building 101 ~ For Homeowners, Builders & Realtors.Green Building Ct.

“Green Building” is getting a lot of hype lately, but what exactly is it?

Green is a term used in today’s society to reflect on ways to save energy, resources and live a healthier life in a cleaner environment. It includes such practices as Recycling, Reusing and Reducing. These practices can be used in home building, home renovations, personal habits, lifestyles, land improvement and management. The costs of these green features can range from zero to hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars but over the life cycle of the product you will save money, time, and reduce the effect on the environment.

Over the past year I have written a few articles on the subject and I have provided the top 10 links for easy access.

David -I'm getting better and better with trying to be "greener" I don't use grocery bags anymore, I recycle everything and got a water purifier instead of all those water bottles I used to go thru. I have a long way to go, but every bit counts. Great blog and we all need to be a little greener!

Kristine, you just brought a smile to my face, you have just made a big difference in helping to be green and saving useless through away products, image in a year how many garbage cans you would fill, then multiply that by 50 yrs.

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

David, Thanks for sharing these great links and your insight into all things "Green".  While it is popular, I think it is also important, especially with the turmoil in parts of the world that will affect our need for energy.

Larry you are so right, here in North America we need to think what our impact is globally.

Joe, I'm a lean, mean, green machine...... plus St. Patty's Day is just around the corner.

A lot of home buyers are becoming more and more aware of green home building practices. Energy efficiency should be a top concern.

I do like the fact that I own a green building...I am one republican that loves solar panels on a beach house...perfect..no bills for electricity or gas for hot water.  In the winter it is a different story.
