Cary, NC: Searching for a Home by Wake County Public School System School Assignments

First the disclaimer:
With the growth in Wake County, North Carolina, and the burden of additional students on the Wake County Public School System, no real estate agent will guarantee a specific school assignment.  The assignments noted in the MLS listings are merely what are listed on WCPSS.net for that address when the listing is posted.
You may find that the school assignment has changed, and you should doublecheck it yourself to confirm if a specific school is very important to you.

Searching for homes with specific school assignments in Cary, NC.

Every listing agent must enter school assignments for Elementary, Middle, and High Schools to enter a Residential listing in the Triangle MLS.  These become searchable fields, and can be offered as search parameters on member REALTOR® web sites.
It is not uncommon to have a Buyer tell me that they want a particular, popular school.  So we can search the Wake County Public School System assignments in listings.

To that end, I set up a sample search, listing Cary, Apex, and Morrisville and selecting Highcroft Elementary School.  You can revise the search, and select alternative schools by clicking the "Modify Search" button.

Note:
The Search does not differentiate between elementary, middle, and high schools.  If schools share a name, like Apex Elementary, Apex Middle, and Apex High Schools, all schools with the name "Apex" will show in the results.

It's really difficult here to. Too many variables and tracks that one must follow to get in a particular school.

Glenn,

As we open new neighborhoods, and build new schools, many parents are frustrated by school reassignments by Wake County Public School System.
We have to be very careful as agents when discussing school assignments.

Mike ~  I have been asked more and more what school is the best.  I give them phone numbers and website to do their own research after I tell them I am not allowed to do so.  Most don't seem to mind but can't believe I can't say yeah or nay for a particular school.

June,

Agreed.  I have to be cautious, too, and not be perceived to be steering.
With the Wake County School Assignments a searchable field in the MLS, if a consumer has targeted a specific school, then I think the ability to search by specific school assignments is a benefit to them.
