On 2/22/11 & 2/24/11 the 11pm ABC NY TV news broadcast a section on unclaimed funds. Even though  the sum of money is so staggering, unfortunately much of this money will go back  to the government.

Most people are  understandably skeptical, and when informed  will not claim their money because they do not believe the information is true.

There is also a  misconception that all funds being held will always be available, but certain funds do have a time limit and if not claimed before the time runs out, will be seized by the government and will no longer be available to be claimed.
