The Lone Group Sues Fellow Realtor

I was just reading Jay Thompson's blog post about The Lones Group and was shocked.

Everyone thinks this will ruin their reputation. Maybe, but if you have no reputation (in my opinion), is a bad reputation better? Don't you believe in the bad press is still good press? I once did a story about a spammer... and he tracked a $500 sale from it. My bet is their website traffic is skyrocketing!.

This Lines group may not be very Lone after all.

I just donated to Daniel's legal defense fund, which you can find on Jay's blog about The Lones Group

I plan on doing a Archive WAYBACK search to see who really used Zebra first. Frank

Gunslingers and bank robbers preached the need for a bad reputation of notoriety as helping their cause. And we all know that often a little bad credit is better than no credit history right? What concerns me is the other public relations, media reputation handlers that seized on the ambulance chasing, following zebra dung to be part of the razzle dazzle, helter skelter. As the legal beagles set up the exhibit "A", "B", "C"'s on the court room easels. Doing the time line on when the domain was registered, the he said she said run down, circulating the memorandums, affidavits, depositions.

It's sad that you can trademark anything with the word "Zebra" in it.  I think "Zebra" is public domain and the combination of "Zebra" and any other plain English word does not change a darn thing in my humble opinion.  I purposely did not go to the Lones Group website as I don't care to increase their web traffic.  I think the lawsuit is ridiculous and their alleged damage is speculative at best.  Any award should be offset by any increase in business they get potentially as a result of increased traffic as a result of filing a lawsuit that has nothing but nuisance value.

Frank,

I agree that The Lones Group win tremendously in popularity. That was the best markerting idea they could come up with.

Yes, at the expense of Daniel, but do they care?
