Bahama House in Charleston, SC - Speechless Sunday

Bahama House is just the name I gave this property ! I'm no authority on naming houses downtown Charleston, but when I stumbled across this home with colorful shutters and is very narrow, I thought of the Bahamas.

The Bahama House is located in one of the oldest of areas in historic Charleston, dating back to 1730. At that time, owners were taxed on the width of their homes, so homes were designed to be narrow.

Great point. Seems the house was shaded already, no need for shutters. Must be there for the cosmetic effect ?
