In Andy Andrews’ book, The Traveler’s Gift, he talks about 7 Decisions that determine personal success.
The 2nd one deals with “SEKING WISDOM.”
· I will train my eyes and ears to seek knowledge that brings about positive change. · I will only read & listen to what increases my belief and my future. · I will choose to associate with people whose lives and lifestyles I admire. · I will listen to the counsel of the wise. · By learning from others, I dramatically increase my success. · I will not look for someone to open my door; rather, I will seek to open the door for someone else.
James 1:5-8 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”
I have watched people associate with others who bring them down and change their lives for the worse. It is imperative that we associate with those who will help us and lift us up and have similar values and character.
