Many sellers across the country are burying their heads in the sand instead of doing something to avoid foreclosure.

• Call the short sale department of the bank immediately!
• If your home is not on the market, hire a realtor that is a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE).  Not every realtor works short sale.  They should know that time is limited and will immediately get the short sale process started.
• Gather all the required documents.  Some short sales can be submitted to the lender before you receive an offer on your home.

Banks are not forgiving and every day counts.  Missing one document may stop the short sale and the home will go to foreclosure.
