There are four new mortgage-aid programs available through the Keep Your California Home program that housing officials say could help as many as 100,000 households avoid foreclosure: Each program requires that the company servicing the mortgage be a participant. Currently, GMAC, Guild Mortgage, the California Housing Finance Agency, and the California Department of Veterans Affairs are participating in all four programs. Others participating in some of the programs include Bank of America, CitiMortgage, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo. Programs are only available to Californians who own and occupy their homes as their primary residence. For more information, call 888-954-5337 or visit KeepYourCaliforniaHome.org.
