Los Angeles Area Farmers' Markets - There is One Every Day of the Week

The first, Farmer's Market in Los Angeles , and probably the most famous in the U.S., started in 1934. Since then Farmers Market numerous local farmers' markets have sprung up all over the Los Angeles area.

Farmers' Market at The Grove is open Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 pm, Saturday, 9:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m., Sunday, 10:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. Here are a few of these neighborhood markets where you can shop for fresh produce, flowers, breads, specialty items and much more....

Beverly Hills Farmers' Market - Sundays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Check out the special events.

Brentwood Farmers' Market - Sundays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Century City Farmers Market - Thursdays 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Culver City Farmers' Market - Tuesdays 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Echo Park Farmers' Market - Fridays 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Hollywood Farmers' Market - Sundays 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

La Cienega Farmers' Market - Thursdays 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mar Vista Farmers' Market - Sundays 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 .m.

Santa Monica Farmers' Market - Sundays 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Check out the special events.

Silver Lake Farmers' Market - Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Venice Farmers Market - Fridays 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Westwood Farmers' Market - Thursdays 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Grand Central Market. Established in 1917 Grand Central Market is a diverse, bustling area with over 38 vendors, where you can buy almost anything. Open 7 days a week 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Jane, excellent. Our little Eureka Springs farmer's market is still going on although the winter version is a scaled back production. This is another reason to long for spring.

I love the Farmer;s Market at The Grove. Whebn we go visit we often go for brunch, then grab a few items at the Farmer's Market. The one in West Hollywood is terrific.

Jane, many areas have a farmers market and I do like to stop when I can. Since I'm only minutes from rural areas it's always easy to find a farmer selling his produce along the road...these are also great places to stop. Love meeting real people who are connected to what they sell and grow with their own hands.

Last summer I just fell in love with a lady who brought fresh baked goods to our local weekly farmers market. When it closed for winter I was really sad. Today I stumbled on a new baker that's THE lady. (will have to get her a blog post up soon) Tonight for dinner we had Italian olive stuffed bread. Was just to die for.

Hi Jane: the Farmer's Market is wonderful. I had my first blintz at a food stall and I still remember how good it was. This was a fun and cheap place for a date in college....walk around, snack a little, and buy some interesting food to take back to the apartment. What a great memory, thanks.
