Fountain Hills, AZ The Great Fair 2011

The Fountain Hills Great Fair lived up to its reputation as a GREAT Fair
Unfortunately the weather wasn't so cooperative. Snow, Rain, Wind and Cold.
The snow on the mountains in Fountain Hills offered some great photo opportunities and there was a crowd out with every imaginable camera to record the rare event. I even met a gentleman shooting on an antique large format camera.

Weather leaves its mark on The Great Fair

A gusty and rainy wintry storm blew through the region early Sunday morning, destroying or damaging 35 Great Fair vendor tents and merchandise. Snow blanketed the McDowell Mountains and other mountainous ranges. Guitar instrumentalist Patrick Ki lost his canopy tent; boxes of his music CDs also were rain-damaged. Chamber of Commerce events producer Sharon Morgan said Friday’s attendance set a single day record of 93,000. After the cold front passed, Saturday’s crowd reached about 65,000 and only 32,000 Sunday.

Weekend winter storm not great for fair
The weather was a damper for the Great Fair this weekend. Although no rain fell during fair hours high winds overnight Saturday damaged numerous artists’ booths. Rainfall at various locations in Fountain Hills ranged from a half to just over three quarters of an inch. There were even some reports of snow flurries in the air in the area of the Great Fair late Sunday morning. The county Flood Control District rain gauge at the water tank in Eagles Nest just off Golden Eagle Boulevard recorded .89 inch of rain. On the other side of town, on Laser Drive outside The Times office the rain gauge recorded .80 inch.

On the Fountain Hills Real Estate Market. There are great reports from agents as far as traffic to the open houses. Foreclosed, Bank Owned and HUD homes are getting snatched up at bargain prices almost as soon as they hit the MLS. I sold a single family home for $110,000 this has to be a record low for a livable home in Fountain Hills, AZ. Other news from the Fountain Hills Real Estate Market is a renewed interest in new custom homes. This is great news for the hard hit contractors and sub-contractors. Remodeling is also improving as the HUD, Foreclosed and bank owned homes get new ownership. It seems that Fountain Hills rentals are almost in short supply especially in the single family 3 bedroom, 2 bath lower end market. Duplex rental prices continue to rise. If you're considering in investing in the Fountain Hills Real Estate Market, it looks like NOW is the time.
