Quick Recap: After requesting information on a property across the country, I was informed (via e-mail) that an in-person meeting was required to receive the information.
After receiving this agent's request for a "sit down" meeting, I replied back to explain that this was impossible at the moment, as I live across the country. I again requested that the information be sent via e-mail so I may review it.
The agent replied back that he would have to "go get the information", but that he was going out of town over the weekend and I would get it "on Monday or Tuesday". As it was Thursday, I realized that either this agent had no clue about customer service, or was just plain lazy. At this point, I gave up. Obviously, he did not have the information when he first replied to my inquiry. And instead of having a co-worker help us in his absence, he made the decision to deal with us when he returned.
As fate would have it, a different (better) opportunity presented itself and we were able to disregard this option. But I can't help but wonder... did greed play a part in his decision? Did he decide that instead of having to split the commission, he'd rather chance it and see if we'd hold out? Or was he just a "green" agent, following the process of his training?
