5 Comments on Small Ranch Teton Valley, Victor Idaho
Harley,
My wife grew up next to her uncle's farm of just over 100 acres in PA. It has been in the family for over 100 years, I believe. She has seen her share of calving.
When we lived in NW Pennsylvania, we would have called your place a "farmette."
Can you have a "ranch" home on 8 acres if you don't call it a "ranch?" =) We have them on less than 1/5 acre in North Carolina.
EXACTLY.
Harley, I love the way you have done your blog - background, theme, your profile picture etc.
According to Webster's dictionary, you have a rancho, which is apparently a way of saying a small ranch. A ranch is a large farm used for raising cattle, horses or sheep.
Fun question. Regardless, it looks like you are right at home on the ranch.
Hey Sandra, thanks for the comment.
I am having weather invey for Texas right now. Long Idaho winter.
Background theme I stole from a picture of my 14 yr old daughter and used photo shop to turn it into a drawing. She is quite a horseman. Thanks for the complement.
When I think "Ranch", I think 100 plus mother cows.
100+ mama cows sounds like a great "goal" to me.
Your daughter did a great job.
