No update on HB894 that I am aware of that puts a 5 month moratorium on all Hawaii non-judical foreclosures. The Senate has it’s own bill out Senate Bill 651 which makes mediation mandatory before non-judicial foreclosure. It will be interesting to see if any of these bills pass. 5 banked own Kauai Beach Resort units sold last month and 2 privately owwned units sold. For a short month (28 days) there were a surprising 60 sales according to the Kauai MLS. With 12 of those being REO sales this is 20% of the market.
