Glacier View Meadows - I'm "Lichen" it!

By
Real Estate Agent with United Country Ponderosa Realty, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

I'm "lichen" Glacier View Meadows, a mountain subdivision in Livermore, CO. and I hope you will like it too!

The other day my husband I went for a walk around Batterson Lake, in Glacier View Meadows Subdivision.  I was shooting into the sun, so the lake photo looks like it was much later in the day than it really was.

On our way back home we stopped to look at a gnarly mass of dead wood wrapped around a huge boulder, and then the lichen caught my eye.

Lichen can easily be overlooked but I think they are amazing.  They can live anywhere.  You will find hundreds of species in every climate of the world.

In nature, just like in real estate, I delight in paying attention to the tiniest detail.

"The eye often cannot see what the mind does not already know."

Hi Mary, A very good post and I loved the photos. I particularly liked this very profound statement. "The eye often cannot see what the mind does not already know."  Well Done!

Hey Mary, I love the pictures you took on your walk.  Absolutely gorgeous.  The first one looks like it came right out of the pages of a magazine.

Mary, I'm really lichen your photos! You know, I used to have a short sale listing on a street called Lichen, and everybody pronounced it incorrectly. That told me that those people had probably never heard of lichen and had no idea what it was.

Daaaang. These are some really great pictures. I thought it was just one, and was wondering how the lake was supported by the title...  Then I saw the rest of the pics.  Great!  :)

Hi Shirley, oh boy did I miss the AR email notifications!  I'm glad you're lichen them too Shirley, thank you, I hope you have a great weekend.

Thanks William, I really liked that quote too, and it is so true!  I did not know there were wild turkeys up here, so of course I didn't see them this morning! (my friend told me I drove right past them)

Vickie, I think you're right about our state.  Thanks Vickie, you know I am constantly seeing new things to point a camera at!

Thank you very much Vegas Bob!  You know, that photo is very deceiving, it was actually a warm day and today the sun's out and it looks really warm outside but it's freezing!

Hi Craig, oh I'm so glad you're lichen the photos, thank you Craig!

Karin, I have to agree with you about Colorado and then I see so many other beautiful photos of different places on AR - I think we just live in a beautiful and amazing world! :-)  Thanks for stopping in, Karen, I appreciate it!

Hi Jeffrey. It may be the most beautiful, I don't know - I think I'm prejudice :-)  Thank you for stopping by Jeffrey!

Thanks Sandy, that first photo surprised me- shooting into the sun changes the way everything looks to the naked eye, but I liked the way it turned out :-)

Hi Elizabeth, That's funny.  I was wondering if people would read the title correctly...how did they say it? Rhymes with kitchen or chicken? LOL  Thanks for the chuckle Elizabeth.

Thank you Ann! I'm glad you stopped by and that you're lichen it too :-)

Hi Chris, Daaaaang! I'm happy that it made sense after the first photo, HAHA! thank you!

Hi Jane, thank you.  I felt a little crazy out there sticking my face and camera so close to the rocks but those lichen are pretty, I think.  Thanks for taking a look.

I always find the most interesting "things" in your photos.  But oh my gosh, the lake is still quite froozen isn't it?  WOW.  When will it be water again?

Hi Mary!  Wow-you still have some serious ice up in your Mountain Paradise!  It would appear that you were not sick for any of your biology and earth science classes during your high school days!

Beautiful pictures!
