Peggy, when we lived in Boston,MA it was almost a National Holiday, everyone was drinking in the Pubs by 12noon, since we moved to LA it is almost a passing fancy. Hope you will have a Great ST Patty's Day:))

Sounds like a lot of fun! I wish we had something like that here. We have plenty of celebrations, but not a big one for St Paddy's. We do have one parade, and since it is the Keys, the parade is a bit odd.

David - just from a numbers perspective, I believe NYC has the largest St. Paddy's parade. For the most part, most of 8 million residents and additional 2 million daily workers celebrate in some fashion - it's wild!  SF does a nice job, but doesn't even come close.  I think Boston is next because of it's very large Irish population.

No Barb, not Boston's South End - when I lived in Mass, I was NE in Peabody.  We had a local parade that was fun for the kids!

Kathy - a St. Paddy's parade in the Keys must be a hoot!

Peggy, This sounds like a lot of fun! My son is Irish … and he will likely be in San Francisco celebrating St. Paddy’s Day.

Hi Kathleen, have him watch for the garbage company's antique garbage trucks - they're always a big hit!
