Hey Richmond: Do you Groupon?
Saving money has always been a big plus in my book. I hate over paying for anything and, frankly, I love the thrill of a good deal. Last year when I stumbled upon Groupon, a website that offers coupons to local businesses once a certain number have been purchased, I was intrigued. I signed up for the daily alerts that let me know exactly what the deal was for the day. I watched these deals carefully but never bought anything. That was until...
...I saw a Groupon for a massage. I am a sucker for massages. They are a rare treat, but a treat I do indulge in from time to time. I JUMPED at the chance to buy it and saved half off in the process. I was hooked. I even got my husband hooked once he saw the deals coming in for golf. In the last six months, we have bought several Groupons: a few massages, some golf discounts, and a few for some local restaurants. Now, we are in the process of cashing them in and are having a great time doing it! (FYI: I DO Google the business before I purchase in order to practice due diligence and make sure it is a business I feel comfortable with!)
Today's Richmond Groupon is for a local restaurant on Staples Mill Road, Roma Ristorante Italiano. The offer is $10 for $20 worth of food and drinks. Another half off - not bad! I will probably purchase it as I have never been to this restaurant and there is no better way, in my book, than to try something out for a DISCOUNT! You may ask, "what's in it for the business?" I believe local businesses are drawn to Groupon as it is a chance to introduce their product or service to an audience that may never have been exposed to. It's a win-win!
So, tell me. Do you get your Groupon on?! What have been your best deals? Have you had a good experience?
