For the first time since 1976 the Canadian dollar hit par.  All the Canadians I know are beaming and thinking of the best way to invest their stronger dollar.  Canadians have long loved Hawaii's sunny weather.  In the 1970's they bought a lot of Kihei real estate, coming over here to thaw out in the winter months.  I think that with their dollar soaring they will be putting their money back in Maui real estate soon, especially with our prices soft and a much larger inventory then the recent past.

A good blog and an interesting notion. I wonder if the Canadians are investing in other warm areas as well

I don't know, I would imagine so.  They came in really big over here in the 70s  (the other time their dollar was so strong)
