Seems like I missed a little excitement at work today.
My first clue should have been the two police cars still parked in our plaza parking lot.
Turns out that an armed robbery had taken place at the Check Cashing business two doors down.
And I missed it all - officers armed with handguns and M-16s, getting locked IN the office for safety and lining up at the window to watch the commotion. Well, maybe that wasn't the best place to be...
No worries, though, the suspect fled and got trapped in a neighborhood with no outlet where she was promptly caught. Yes, it was a SHE!
I can't imagine what she was thinking, and all for $800.00 that she won't get to keep anyway! Even though I missed the excitement, I'm glad it all turned out okay, especially for the workers two doors down!
Well I'm glad no one was hurt and I'm glad they got the money back! I'll bet the office will be buzzing for days!
Hi Wanda - I think you are right!
Hi Joe - They did come in for interviews and nobody had seen a thing .....
That does sound like excitement one could do without. I hear gun shots and explosions all the time at my office but thank God it's the movies at the Theater in which my office shares a wall with.
Hi Brenda - Well with the way things are these days a little excitement is a good thing. If you had been there you could have sauntered down there and asked her if she wanted to buy a house with all that money. Oh never mind, she would probably tell you she already had an agent. Y'all be careful, now.
Brenda--Glad no one was hurt. Someone has to be really desperate to try to pull off something like this. Hope she didn't need the money to feed her kids!
Bob - Before I read your last line I was thinking "Whoa, where does HE work?!" Never a dull moment at your location!
Steve - I think she ended up with more agents than she wanted to yesterday - agents of the LAW!
Hi Pat - In the paper today it said it was a 57 year old local woman?! It also said the female employee was forced by gunpoint into the bathroom where she was told to stay. Now that's who I feel REALLY bad for! When I wrote the post I was pondering whether or not a funny picture should accompany it and now I know that to at least one person, the employee, this wasn't funny at all.....
Brenda, I'm glad that you are safe and that no shots were fired. Police with M-16s is sometimes a recipe for disaster.
Gary - Thanks! I'm glad it had a good ending for all the people around, too.
