Friday's Fotos....The Log Barn!

Barn

Best I can find out this log barn was built back in the 30's or 40's.....A lot of sweat went into putting this structure together!

This is just another of those images of time going by in the Bristol Tn Va area!

I feel like we are so lucky to still have these images occupying some of our landscape!

Rob,

This photo reminds me of a corn crib on an Historic home I had listed - built in 1815 - really neat photo - thanks for posting!

Rob  I believe it was used to dry tobacco which is the reason for the openness - we have lots of them here in Virginia.  It probably was a grower who had a small farm and didn't need a tall barn with many levels of hanging tobacco

Hi Rob, Congratulations for this Featured post.  I love these barn pictures.  You should plan to write a book on the history of the barns in your area.  It would be great.  Have the owners tell a story about each barn.  It would be history.

Rob -- Another great barn pic. You have to put together a coffee table book of barns.

What a great shot from the Bristol, TN Mountains! Looks like it would keep the rain out, but it might have a little draft when the wind blows.

What a nostalgic and charming photo. Made me think of my grandparents farm and the old days of hiding and playing in the hay loft. This barn has so much character.

Rob, I love the picture. It captures the days long gone, when life was simple and all people had were their families. On the other hand, I do enjoy the advantages we have within our reach today. Have a fabulous weekend!
