Pebble Beach, CA Lone Cypress Tree

Here is a shot I took of the famous Lone Cypress Tree in Pebble Beach.  It was a beautiful evening with a great sunset and the surf was pretty active.  What a beautiful subject to take photos of.  I took over 200 photos that evening of the Cypress and finally the light failed me and it was time to pack it in.

If you have been to Pebble Beach, you have certainly seen the Lone Cypress.  If you haven't been here, here is a little piece of the beautiful Monterey Peninsula that will hopefully entice you to make the trip.  You will not be sorry you did!

This photograph was taken with a Canon 5d Mark II.  To see more pictures of the Monterey Peninsula you can check out www.MarkBrunoPhotography.com.

Mark: If you took that about a week ago (Saturday evening, I think), then I was on Carmel Beach taking photos as well. The sunset just blew me away, it was so gorgeous. That's an exceptional shot of the Lone Cypress.

Mark - Without a doubt, the Lone Cypress must be the most photographed tree in the world.  As many times as I've visited it, and photographed it, I still continue to be in awe of its spectacular beauty.  CONGRATULATIONS on having this blog FEATURED in the PHOTOS group!

Hella - Thanks!  This shot was taken last year, but you are right the sunset last weekend was fantastic!  That wa sthe day we actually has snow flakes in Pebble Beach and the air was really cold for us west coasters, at 40 degrees!  The sky was exceptional that evening and of course I was ot without my camera!  Isn't that how it always happens.  Normally it is in the car at all times.

Hi Myrl.  Thanks for featuring this shot!  I think you are right about the Cypress.  Not only has it appeared in many photographs, but think of all the Pebble Beach logos on golf shirts and clothing that have been produced over the years!  It is an exceptional place and the view of Carmel bay never ceases to amaze me.  I will keep posting photographs of the Monterey Peninsula and eventually get a few Yosemite shots posted as well.  That is my favorite place to go hunting...With a camera of course ;-).

Mark - this is a spectacular photo! I just want to jump into the picture and be there right now. I've never heard of the "Lone Cypress", but I'm not surprised that is photographed so often - what a view and you captured it beautifully!

Thank you Kristine!  Have you heard of Pebble Beach?  Home of the famous Crosby Clam Bake golf tournement which is now the AT&T Pro Am and one of the most beautiful stretches of California coast (I am a little bit bias...).  This is the tree they have modeled there logo after (top left of the link) and it appears on all of the golf attire as well as any thing else they brand.  You have to come and see the Lone Cypress!
