Don't Let Closing Cost Assistance Keep You From Closing

By

There is another distrubing trend that we have been noticing in the short sale industry. Some investors are kicking files back asking for closing cost assistance. I find this interesting because they are just rejecting the offer because the buyer is asking for closing cost assistance.

In the state of Arizona, there is written language that states the seller will pay X amount of closing costs. It's in the contract to be filled in. They have put it in the contract because it is standard.

What does the servicer want to do, foreclose on more homes because of closing cost assistance. It makes no sense if you are trying to mitigate loss. As an agent, you need to escalate. Escalating to the investor is a strategy to consider as well.
