Duke's Lake

I took this picture last year at a crossroads not far from my home.  This is Duke's Lake, east of Rolesville, NC.

In the middle of my busy day, I just had to stop and admire the beauty of the lake.  The water was like glass, offered a perfect reflection right up to the dam, and I hope it gives you a chance to reflect on things as well.

Take some time, and think about the good things in life.  Enjoy the beauty.  Enjoy your family & friends.  Take time to have some time to yourself.  It's good and gets you back and ready to do what you need to do.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Jeremy, thanks for sharing the photo.  We often do not take time to look around and enjoy the moment and the beauty around us.

That's a great shot. Looks like one of those pools without the edge. The buildings almost look like they are under water.

Dale, glad to share.  There is so much beauty around, and I so often am too busy to see it.

Thanks, James.  I thought the same thing, and the optical illusion is really highlighted in the photo.  I just couldn't drive past without pulling off to look and capture the memory.

Very cool photo Jeremy.  At least with better cell phone cameras, we are always able to catch those moments, we would otherwise miss.

Thanks, Jeff!  That is so true.  I've taken better pictures with my Droid than I did with a digital camera 2 years ago.

Thanks for the post Jeremy, really appreciate the words of wisdom below the picture.

I saw the photo and thought it was a flood, the buildings in the background looked underwater. Good to know there is a dam there. :>

Tom, it's good advice for me as well.  Too often I'm too busy!

And yes, glad those buildings aren't flooded, as the road I needed to go on was on the other side of that dam!

Jeremy~yes I was wondering how you could stay so calm when the house was underwater! Nice to know it wasn't flooded, great picture, I can see why you stopped to take a moment and enjoy the beauty.

Adrian, it is a pretty fun optical illusion!  And so beautiful!
