 Not including your income or credit score, the single most important factor with regard to your ability to afford a home is interest rates. It's pretty simple, the lower the rates, the more house you can afford to buy. For the last several years we have been fortunate that rates have been fairly stable (some say artificially low by Government intervention), but now it looks like we are headed to higher rates, no matter what the government says. New Listing Tour
3/2/2011

 Every 3 Weeks our office tours Listings that have been put on the Market. This weeks tour brought us to two interesting and diverse homes.

We started in Elkton in the Water Access Community of Arundel and visited 48 Old Chestnut Rd. The Home was listed by Glenda Artinger and is in need of a lot of tender loving care, on the positive side it has a great corner lot. It is not occupied so there is a possibility of quick settlement. If you want a challange this may be for you. It is listed at $175,000, which is $65,000 below appraised value.

We then moved to the other end of the spectrum to 28 Joy Drive in North East. This Wanderfully maintained Cozy Cape was listed by Michelle Burch and has too many upgrades to list. From the Corian counters to brazilian tiger floors, to its paver patio with hot tub. Great detatched garage and additional shed all on just over an acre. This is worth a look!

Great Local Auction to Benefit Freedom Hills in Port Deposit MD

Another Great Benifit this weekend at the Rising Sun Banquet Hall this Saturday March 5 at 5:00 pm. This on is a Auction for the Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program. There will be many wonderful items to be auctioned including exotic vacations, artwork, dinners, local weekends, memorabilia signed by celebrities and much more.  There will be Live and silent auctions during the evening.  The cost to attend is $75 for dinner & auction or $35 for just hors d'ouerves & auction. You may remember Freedom Hills as they were Featured on the TV Show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition from a couple of years ago. A Great Time and A Great Cause. Week ending 2/27/2011

Cecil County Real Estate Statistics for the week ending February 27. 2011 

There were 26 properties placed under contract in Cecil County during the past week. Included in these were 7 Foreclosed Home, 3 Home in Short Sale, and no New Construction.  This brings the total under contract for the month of February to 68. 

Only 31 Properties were listed last week bringing the total to 120 for the month of February. 

19 Homes were removed from the market last week without being sold.

6 Properties Sold bringing the total of homes closed this month to 30.
