Already featuring top school districts and great lifestyle, Chandler is quickly becoming a new technology hub. The main reasons for this is the great weather and lack of natural disasters, which makes keeping developmental technology and data safe, as well as having closer locations to corporate offices.
Last Friday, Intel announced their plans to build a $5 billion dollar chip-making facility at its site in Chandler, AZ. The new facility will be the most advanced high-volume semiconductor manufacturing plant in the world. Construction is scheduled to begin in the middle of this year and finish in 2013.
The project is expected to bring in at least 1,000 permanent high-wage, manufacturing jobs in addition to the thousands of construction jobs during the process. Currently, Intel has more than 9,700 employees in the valley and has spent more than $12 billion dollars adding high-tech manufacturing capacity in Arizona.
Intel is the second company to announce the move to Chandler, AZ. They followed Paypal, an internet-based company that facilitates nearly 18% of global online commerce. Paypal's new facility, which celebrated its grand opening last Wednesday, is expected to provide the valley with at least 1,500 new jobs.
All of the new job opportunities in the valley are expected to provide a boost to the community as well as the housing market. This is a great opportunity to purchase an investment home today, as more people will be looking to move into the valley. Chandler is also a great location as it provides close access to three major freeways, allowing an easy commute to anywhere in the Valley.
