I hate to bring up this delicate subject.
But...... there are a lot of foreclosed properties on the market, and most of them have been winterized. That means that there is no running water in the house.
Please, please, let your buyers have enough bathroom breaks so that they don't have to use the bathrooms in the houses you show.
One Realtor told us that she may have to do some 'repair,' maybe even have to call in a plumber. The thing is, that this house has not been shown that many times, so she could probably figure out who the desecrater was, if she wanted to.
Maybe mother never told us about these things, as foreclosures, and winterizing, may have been rare in her day. So it is time to do a little teaching and informing of ourselves.
Oh this is a pet peave of mine!! I actually went into one of my foreclosed 400k houses only to be hit with the smell of someone having used a winterized toilet in the house. and the smell was NOT urine!
I'm with you a 100%! I always ask if anyone must go before we head out to look at homes. I feel that unless it is an emergency the sellers bathroom should be off limits except for looking at.

I can't believe this happens, really! I have been in many foreclosed homes, and have worked with gmany buyers, and every time I have a buyer ask if they can use the facilities, I ask them to ensure two things: there is toilet paper, and running water - otherwise, it's a trip to a gas station, or something similar!
I walked into a bank owned home recently. Not only was it winterized, but they had put plastic sealer over each toilet. Believeit or not there was a finger hole in the plastic. Yep! you guessed it. I chuckled to myself, why did he not go outside?
As one of my customers says, "Ain't that the truth!". What a nightmare. :)
They should have notices all over the place.
I had one and the kid went to the bathroom, oh my...what a mess.
No one would own up to it.
