Coming Clean - After Being Called on the Carpet
Sometimes, you just have to give a shout out to a fantastic company. So I am here to tell you that Professional Carpet Systems of Seymour, CT, really know how to do their job and deserve a special mention.
On Thursday, I wrote a post entitled Called on the Carpet, detailing how my furniture delivery guys managed to track dark brown motor oil over quite a bit of the light beige wall-to-wall carpet in my home. This is what the carpet looked like after they left:
Through a personal referral, I called Professional Carpet Systems, and they were able to schedule service for first thing on Thursday morning. Dean, the service guy, couldn't have been nicer or more professional. The very first thing he did before stepping foot in my home was to put covers on over his shoes. And although he had to go back out to his truck several times to get all the supplies and equipment set up, he removed and put on those shoe coverings every single time.
With a rug that looked like the photo above, Dean had to really work hard to attack each and every stain. He wound up using a combination of products before then going over the entire rug in the master bedroom, on the upstairs landing, and on each step going down to the main level of the house with the regular carpet cleaning equipment.
After two solid hours of hard work, the carpet looked new, as you can see in the photo below.
Now, the only marks to be seen on the carpet are scuff marks where I've walked. The motor oil is gone!
I'll fax in the bill to the furniture company, and they'll pay for this cleaning. Was this a situation I really wanted at the time? Not really. But I'm really happy to add Professional Carpet Systems to my list of trusted service people that I will use in my home again. And their contact info will go in my Transition Stage LLC business contact list, as I will be glad to recommend them for my home staging and redesign clients.
