Oceanside High School in Oceanside, California is getting two new technical education buildings - after waiting 11 years. Now the wait is less than six months away. The new buildings will be appreciated by the students that are now attending. The new wood-shop and health academy buildings are funded by Proposition H funds and state grants.

Since June of 2010, there have been 10-15 workers a day from 20 different trades on site to complete the buildings. Currently floors and framing are up and electricians and drywallers are at work.

Teachers will be able to move into the two new technical education building in June 2011. Student will have the opportunity to use the buildings in fall 2011.

One of the most impressive features of the new facility is a massive dust collection system that will keep air quality high with numerous ducts circulating in clean air.

Very good to hear when so many districts in our area are cutting back on this and that.

Woodshop was one of my favorite classes when I was attending high school back in the 80's at the Army & Navy Academy in Carlsbad.  Loved to create things as a kid!
